ANZ Institutional has been named the leading bank for customer relationships in Australia for the sixteenth time since 2005, showcasing its ongoing strength in relationship banking.
The Coalition Greenwich Voice of Client 2025 Australia Large Corporate & Institutional Relationship Banking Study ranked ANZ at number one in its annual relationship strength index.
Significantly, the bank was also ranked number one for transaction banking (TB) relationships, as part of the Coalition Greenwich Voice of Client 2025 Australia Large Corporate & Institutional Transactional Banking Study.
In addition, ANZ was named the number-one most-trusted adviser for the third-consecutive year, and first for relationship manager capability. The bank also received the top ranking for TB product development and innovation for the third-straight year.
ANZ GE Institutional, Mark Whelan said the result was a satisfying reward for the bank's early and ongoing investment in its people, platforms and products.
"I am proud of these achievements and grateful for the sustained effort and focus from our team that has led to this result," he said.
ANZ was also named number one for net promoter score for the third-straight year, with the highest ever score of any major Australian bank.
The bank also scored recognition for industry analysis, and for host-to-host and trade platforms, also for the third-straight year.
The results of Crisil Coalition Greenwich’s research are a widely respected indicator of performance across institutional banking in Australia. The group surveys more than 670 senior financial executives responsible for their companies’ corporate banking relationships.
The award news comes after ANZ was named the best bank for corporate banking in Asia by Crisil Coalition Greenwich in February. The bank has taken out the award every year since 2017.
In April, ANZ was named the best sustainable bank across three categories in the 2025 FinanceAsia awards.
